Born in Hammersmith, London, Tayo started playing basketball at 17 years old for Hillingdon/Ealing Tornados. Having won the U18 conference, he was selected to play for England U18s national side. At 19 years old Tayo went to Temple University in America on a half-scholarship, he returned after three months to make his debut in the men's game in England with London Towers. Living in West London, and after two seasons, Tayo joined the London Capitals, making his BBL debut under coach Steve Bucknall, who played for the Lakers in the NBA. Tayo returned to the BBL with Guildford Heat in 2009, during which time Heat also made the final of the BBL Trophy at the O2. Ogedengbe was also chosen to represent England, travelling to France and Belgium as well as some home fixtures. Tayo's professional career also included him playing for London Lions, French team Calais Basket Cheminots, Glasgow Rocks and the Surrey Scorchers.
making his amateur debut while representing Battersea abc/Islington abc back in May 2009, he has steadily progressed and improved his craft and is now on his way to acquiring his professional licence as well as his professional debut in 2018.
